Mohana Kumara Velu @ Mona Kv

Mohana was born in 1988 in Johor. After 
high school, she completed a three-month Water 
Colour Course at the National Art Gallery under 
the guidance of artist Maamor Jantan. Soon 
after, she completed a three-year apprenticeship 
with artist Jeganathan Ramachandram through 
“Gurukulam”, an ancient Indian system of learning.  
She says, “The system allowed me to acquire an 
in-depth knowledge of the fine arts and gave me 
the freedom to experiment with artistic ideas and 
concepts.” She is currently pursuing a Fine Art 
Diploma at the Malaysia Institute of Art  (MIA).
